Max Hoehn has won a newly-created award for opera directors, the Independent Opera Directing Fellowship. Next year he will stage the UK premiere of 'Biedermann und die Brandstifter' by Šimon Voseček based on Max Frisch's play. Meanwhile plans are afoot for a new production by Isle of Noise.
Graham Vick's acclaimed new production of Musorgsky's opera 'Khovanshchina' for Birmingham Opera Company opened in April 2014 in a new English translation by Max Hoehn with the CBSO conducted by Stuart Stratford and a 200-strong volounteer chorus, acting and dance company drawn from the people's of Birmingham.
